$1,500,000 Settlement in Motor Vehicle Negligence Action against Trucking Company
The plaintiff was a properly belted driver traveling northbound on a divided highway. The defendant was driving a tractor trailer traveling in the opposite direction. The defendant driver violated the plaintiff’s right of way by attempting to make a left hand turn into a convenience store resulting in a collision between the two vehicles. The plaintiff sustained serious bodily injuries consisting of fractures to her face cheek, and eye socket, both legs, ankles, ribs , toes, and other internal injuries. She underwent multiple surgical procedures and was left with permanent injuries to her vision, arms, and legs. She also has a form of complex regional pain syndrome which requires pain management treatment. The plaintiff filed suit against the driver and trucking company resulting in a settlement of $1,500,000 shortly before trial.
