$1.5 Million Dollar Settlement Against Contractor For Negligence Resulting In Below The Elbow Amputation
A construction worker was helping install a large subterranean pipe when a coworker caused a crane to contact an overhead power line. The power line energized the equipment the coworker was using causing the electricity to enter his body and exit violently out of his left arm below the elbow. Ultimately, the worker suffered a below the elbow amputation. A negligence action was brought against the contractor resulting in a settlement for $1.5 million dollars.
