Late one evening a commercial dump truck hauling garbage near Orlando, Florida attempted to exit Interstate 4 and join an intersecting highway. The driver lost control of the truck causing it to flip over on its side and dump large amounts of trash and debris over the overpass and on to Interstate 4 creating a roadway emergency. At the same time, a 25 year old male was driving on Interstate 4 near Orlando, Florida when suddenly confronted with falling trash and a slick road. The young man applied his vehicle's brakes but was struck in the rear by a commercial taxi. The young male suffered a severe closed injury that left him with partial memory loss and other cognitive deficits. A civil action was commenced against the commercial trucking company and the commercial taxi company resulting in a settlement for $1.55 Million.
